St. Elias Monastery

The St. Elias Antonine Monastery, located just a short walk from The Silk Valley, offers a glimpse into Lebanon’s rich spiritual and historical heritage.

Facing the Hamada Silkworks across a ravine and seasonal river, this monastery, established in 1850, underwent a complete renovation in 2003. The church is generally open to visitors most days, while the monastery itself can be accessed by appointment.
